Manage the mergers of authors

Merger of the authors

Several authors may be identified by Themis matching a same person. A developer may or example:

  • do changes on several sources
  • have several accounts on a version control (camille@gmail.com and c@gmail.com)

Every users of Themis do a merger of authors. That choice is motivated to reduce the workload for an administrator, every developer thus being able to take charge of this work.

To merge authors, go to the Administration part, then in the Authors menu. That page lists every authors currently identified by Themis.

The first step consist of identify the authors tat you wish to merge. To this end, you may use the filter bar (1) to look for authors by name. As you identify authors, check the box present at the beginning of the line (2) in order to select them. Once your listing completed, select the entry Merge the selected authors in the listing of the available actions (3).

After validation, a window offers you to choose the main author, that is who will cover the other authors. Take the first choice if you do not have a preference. Then click on Validate to complete the operation.

As a result of that, only the main author will appear in the listing. You will find in the Merged authors column the number of authors currently joined to that author. Click on that icon to view that listing.

Remove mergers

To remove the being mergers, go to the Administration part, then in the Authors menu. That page lists every authors currently identified by Themis. identify the main author towards who the looked for author is joined. Click the icon present in the Merged authors. In the listing that opens, identify the line containing the looked for author. 

In the Actions column, click on the   icon to remove the link of merger. As a result of that, the author in question is again available in the listing of the authors.
